Keep Hydro Public

For over 100 years, Ontario's public utilities have kept our lights on. They deliver power to our homes, they repair our wires after storms, and they do it for the best price possible.

Now that the Ontario government is looking at privatizing these utilities all of that is at risk.

Whether in the United States or here in Ontario, the evidence shows that it generally costs more for private companies to deliver power than public agencies. And when it comes to fixing problems, who do you trust? If you have to get your wires repaired or bills fixed, do you want to deal with a public agency where its leadership is accountable to us or a private company who's first obligation is to its shareholders?

The answer is clear. Whether it's for affordability or reliability, for something as critical as our power, public hydro is the best option.
